Fortnite players are begging the devs to turn Season OG into a permanent mode following record-breaking numbers after the update went live.
Fortnite‘s latest season, Chapter 4 Season 5, has got off to a record-breaking start, as players flood the servers to experience the OG map, Battle Pass, weapons, and more.
Everybody loves a bit of nostalgia, and even Tfue is rumored to make a return to the game following the release of Season OG.
Fortnite has experienced its largest player count to date following the update, as the devs announced that October 4 was “the biggest day in Fortnite’s history.” The game managed to rack up 44.7 million players and 102 million hours of play, which are astronomical numbers, even for a game of Fortnite’s size.
While players will have the whole of Season 5 to enjoy the OG content, it’s unclear what will be happening in the following season, and whether or not any of the OG features will stick around.
This has led to the community sharing their thoughts, as one comment under Fortnite‘s thank you X post read, “I speak for the entire community when I say that Fortnite og should stay as a mode that we can always play.”
The comment has received a lot of love, with over 4,000 likes and many replies in agreement, as one user said, “Yes. All of this. Keep things fresh with the newer maps but PLEASE make this a mode.”
To back it up, the user even mentions Zero Build’s success as a permanent mode, feeling as if Fortnite OG could give the game a similar boost: “No build caused a boost and stayed a mode. Same concept.”
It’s unclear whether this will ever happen, but considering the response and record-breaking player count that the new season has produced, it’s certainly on the cards.
