Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 has caused one of the game’s skins to become pay-to-lose, blinding and preventing players from being able to see while aiming down sights.
Fortnite Chapter 5 is finally here, bringing an extensive amount of content along with it, including the upcoming Lego and Rocket League racing modes.
A new season also means a new Battle Pass and skins, however, those who spent their hard-earned cash on older skins will still be wanting to rock them in Chapter 5. That said, the new gun modification system in Fortnite Chapter 5 seems to be causing some issues.
Reddit user ‘Anthony29472’ highlighted a problem with the Mecha Team Leader skin, which prevents players from seeing enemies while aiming down sights with the new optic attachments.
The OP said, “that goofy rex arm on mecha’s arm makes killing anybody with the new attachments REALLY hard,” sharing a clip that shows the Mecha’s arm completely covering the screen while aiming.
As you can see from the video, it makes it pretty much impossible to use an optic on a weapon with this skin, as one player in the comments said, “Ahh now that’s a real problem, epic really needs to be aware of this one.”
According to another comment, the “Bender skin” from Futurama also has the same issue. Hopefully, Epic Games can bring a fix to this problem as soon as possible, as it seems to be an issue with the new optic attachment with certain skins.
One player claims that whenever they “scoped in with an AR the camera would clip inside my skin so I couldn’t see anything and would just die,” which is certainly not the best experience.
Issues such as this have led to the opinion that the new update is “a mess,” as one player in the comments criticized many aspects of the update: “Hate the movement, even driving is different… recoil sucks…and the locker UI is a**.”
We’ll have to wait and see how Chapter 5 of Fortnite evolves, as Epic will likely bring a load of changes in the coming weeks. For now, check out how you can counter the Ballistic Shield.
