Fortnite v12.50: What to expect

Epic have yet to confirm the release date of v12.50, but data miners in the community insist that it’s coming this week. Tuesday came and went with no update and there’s still no announcement at the time of writing

It’s possible that we get the update on the 29, but it’s getting a tad late with no announcement. We may need to wait for the 30, but a weekly update still seems likely.

Regardless of when it comes, the expectations remain the same. Here’s what to expect in the next Fortnite update.

Bug fixes

Bug fixes are the most predictable part of each update – especially with the lack of official Fortnite patch notes.

We have a short list for you, this week, with only three bugs listed as ‘Fixed in next update’ on the Community Issues Trello board. Here they are:

  • Framerate and resolution drops in v12.41
  • Local Challenges not appearing when entering new area.
  • “Block damage with a Kingsman” Challenge not tracking progress.

Epic are failing to acknowledge several bugs that continue to be an issue in Fortnite. The reloading bug has been in the game for several updates, with no word from Epic. Hopefully, this will be one of the unlisted fixes in v12.50.

Arsenic LTM

The Arsenic – or Infected – LTM has been in the game files for a few updates. This is the PvP zombie-style game mode where survivors fight against infected players.

We don’t know when this is coming to the game, but we can hope to see it when v12.50 goes live. The Travis Scott event is behind us, which opens the door to a new fan-favorite LTM.

New Weapon(s)

We also saw a couple of leaked weapons in the v12.40 patch, including some Dual-Wield Pistols and a new Charge Shotgun. You can take a look at the details on those, here.

The Dual-Wield Silenced Pistols will likely be similar to the ones that Deadpool uses. The shotgun could be something that we’ve never seen before, however. There’s even a chance that it could be of Mythic rarity.
