Fortnite event watch: ‘Agent Meowscles’ and gold prop leak

The Fortnite v11.50 update brought us some new leaks to speculate over, possibly pointing to a season-ending event.

Today’s v11.50 update is, presumably, the last update before Chapter 2 Season 2 begins on February 20. Since this is the case, there were a few leaks that point to what may end up being an event to end season 1.

We’ll start with the simpler of the two leaks: gold props appearing at the center Eye Land in Fortnite. The details on these items are still sketchy, but here’s an image via @Lucas7Yoshi.

This shift makes sense if you consider the Overtime Challenges. The 8-Ball vs. Scratch skin, which appears to be the most lore-filled skin in the season, got a gold variant with one of the challenge lists.

Data miners also found this strange folder in the game files. It bares the EGO logo and looks to be appearing on the upcoming golden toilet. I couldn’t think of a better place to put such sensitive information.

‘Agent Meowscles’ Spectrograph

Now, onto the more puzzling leak from v11.50: the ‘Agent Meowscles’ spectrograph.

Epic added a new sound file in v11.50. It’s listed as an ‘event’ sound file, which gives the sound file further significance.

When you plug the sound into a spectrograph, though, you find a puzzling image. There are pictures of a cat and a fish.

What could this mean? Is Epic trolling us? Are they, literally, catfishing us with event leaks?

We have no idea what this means – if it actually means anything. Is the new Fortnite map a catfish? Are we only hallucinating the new map following the black hole’s destruction?

Your guess is as good as ours. For all anyone knows, Epic is purposefully throwing us off the scent. Until February 20, we can only theorize.
