Epic responds to deadly Fortnite stuttering bug

Epic has responded to a stuttering Fortnite bug that is killing players left and right.

Fortnite has always been prone to bugs – some worse than others. We recently saw Ziplines get disabled due to the massive number of bugs associated with them.

One bug that has been in the game for at least a couple of months causes your game to stutter when you get into a fight. I’ve experienced this bug several times, and it’s killed me nearly every time.

As soon as you start engaging an opponent, the game freezes. When it comes back, you’re almost always spectating the opponent who killed you.

The player who posted this to the r/FortniteBR subreddit appears to be using a PC. I’ve experienced this bug on my Xbox and thought that it had something to do with the sub-par hardware; apparently not.

Epic employee u/bja98 responded to the complaint with the generic, “This issue is on our scope and is being investigated.” At the time of writing, however, the issue is not listed on the Fortnite Community Issues Trello board.

Hopefully, Epic gets this sorted sooner rather than later. It’s an extremely frustrating bug to encounter and is causing players to unfairly lose games.
